I am interested in taking some pictures of the salt lakes and want to get as close as possible to them. Does anyone know of the best place to do this in the area?

CHEAP RATES WITH IBEDROLA
I recently changed the tariff for my electricity supply from Ibedrola. I now pay just 0.056€/kW cheap rate and 0.168€/kW day rate. I was told from 22:00 till 12:00 noon the following day I am charged at the lower rate. The rate is slightly higher for peak period but I can make it work for me. I took my latest Factura + Passport to the Ibedrola Office and they arranged to have the meters changed for my house.

Elections
Just an update for Alice and others. Photo is now attached. Enlarge it and put it in a frame above the fire. It will keep the kids away. And for Robert, I pledge that I will do all that I can to make La Marina a better place. If you wish to comment or make a suggestion...keep it clean please. For the first time ever three British councillors have been elected in the same municipality ie San Fulgencio and it would make history if these three were actually installed as governing councillors, giving residents of the urbanisations a voice in local government: Mark Lewis (APSFU), Brian Deacon (PSOE), and Jeff Wiszniewski (PIPN).
The PP party's 8 elected councillors are all Spanish in an area continually boasting its multi-national status. Commenting on his own website, Mark Lewis said “The Spanish voters won the day due to the unwillingness of the British people and other Europeans to go to the Polling Station. The requirements of the Spanish voters may now take priority over the wants and needs of the English and other nationalities living in the urbanisations.” All eyes will now be on 10th June to see the outcome.
Well looking at the way the last administration treated " The Spanish Voters" especially in Oasis, I am not surprised, in fact delighted at the outcome. Maybe we can now have a coalitition which will treat ALL residents fairly, and Oasis will finally have it's infrastucture replaced. As for not enough British and Europeans voting, the right to vote was taken away from us by the last administation, unless you were on the Padron, and you had to be a resident to be on the Padron. Maybe the new administration will reverse this unjust rule, Remembering most expats that have a property here are NON residents but enjoy the luxury of owning a holiday home, and paying their Taxes all year round to the Town Hall in San Fulgencio.
Hi all, finally found a place to rent, will be over in November! cant wait,
I will need to install an internet connection just anyone know how I go about this? and rough ideas of price.

Hi There
When you arrive on the Urb ask someone to point you in the direction of the Saterlite roundabout ( thats what it's known as locally) There is a cable company there doing a package which includes TV, Telephone with your choice of free calls to Europe or Local calls and 2mg Adsl ( Broadband) for €36 a month. We have had the system for 3 months and so far it has been excellent. They do charge an installation fee and also if you want more than 1 box for the tv you will pay more for installation and more per month. You can also upgrade the ADSL to 4mg for about €6 extra a month. We have found 2mg is fine for normal internet use and even for downloading, but slow when using Skype.
We origionally had Telephonica internet and telephone. They were doing a deal for €40 a month for the first year, but then it's about €60 after that, plus calls, so now we are making a big saving. Also at the Saterlite roundabout the people in the office speak english. Good luck....
Hi Nikki,
Thanks for that, I have noted it down! and we definately go there when I arrive.
Hi there
The installation cost for us was nearly €300 but we have 2 tv boxes and I think around €70 was for the second box.
If there is a television installed at the property through Torresat then this is one of your cheapest options. If you are going to be on La Marina Urbanisation it costs 21 euros a week for your internet and includes free calls to England. You pay about 6 cents a minute for calls in Spain. There is a charge for connection but I don't know what the deal is at the moment. Hope this helps.
Security
I cannot believe that for the first time in our eight years in Spain, we have had something stolen from outside our house. Someone has come along and taken the statue from right by our front gate. To do this they must have had a vehicle. As we are situated back from the main road they would have had to drive onto the Parque, unless they carried it down the road. If they did I hope they have an hernia.
